Henry Herbert Lyman. He had been born 21 December 1854 to Henry, b. 4 October 1813 in Vermont, and Mary (nee Corse; also advised as Carter; b. 17 October 1823 at Montreal, Canada) Lyman in Montreal, Canada, in the Congregational Church. His parents had married 24 August 1841 at Montreal. His known brothers and sisters included Henry Roswell (died in childhood), Frederick Stiles, Arthur Ellis (died in childhood), Susan Alice (died in childhood), Roswell Corse, and Walter Ernest Lyman. He married Florence Holwell Kirby on 14 March 1912 in Manhattan, New York. Henry Lyman was owner of Lyman Sons & Company, a wholesale drug company. He was a Major in the Royal Scots of Canada and an amateur entomologist. Major Lyman did not survive the sinking of the Empress of Ireland.
